ABOUT

ANDY DOBSON is a British scientist and author. Following a PhD at the University of Nottingham in 2008, he has conducted research in ecology, epidemiology, and conservation biology at the universities of Oxford, Stirling, and Edinburgh. In all this time he has received only one official complaint for not wearing shoes or socks at work.
His first book, Flaws of Nature: The Limits and Liabilities of Natural Selection, was published by Flint Books in 2023. It was nominated for the Zoological Society of London’s Clarivate Award for Science Communication, 2024, and is now also available in Polish, Korean, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese.
He writes a monthly wildlife column in Scottish Field magazine, and has also contributed to BBC Wildlife, The Biologist, and Birdwatching magazines.
In his free time, he has nearly given up rowing.
